Interventie- en preventieve programma’s voor angst en depressie

Samenvatting

De prevalentie van angst en depressie bij kinderen is hoog, wat kennis van efficiënte interventiestrategieën en preventie cruciaal maakt. De meeste interventiemethoden zijn gebaseerd op cognitieve gedragstherapie (cgt), zowel individueel als in groepsverband. Recente klinische onderzoeken laten zien dat het gebruik van cgt in groepsverband niet alleen doeltreffend, maar ook kosteneffectief is. Recent onderzoek laat echter ook zien dat veel kinderen ongediagnosticeerd blijven en hierdoor serieuze problemen ervaren. Daarom ligt het voor de hand een meer proactieve in plaats van reactieve benadering te hanteren bij het ontwikkelen van behandelingen. Onderzoek naar de effectiviteit van universele preventiemethoden op school is veelbelovend.
