Een cognitief gedragstherapeutisch programma

Onderdeel van een (semi–)residentiële behandeling van kinderen met emotionele stoornissen

Samenvatting:

Een aanpassing van het programma van Knaus ‘Rational Emotive Education’ was nodig om het een zinvol onderdeel te kunnen laten zijn van een (semi–)residentiële behandeling voor kinderen met emotionele stoornissen. Na de bespreking van de theoretische uitgangspunten voor deze behandeling volgt een beschrijving van het behandelingsmodel. Het in dit artikel gepresenteerde programma past in de laatste fase van de behandeling. Het kan kinderen bewust maken van hun eerste emotionele reactie op gebeurtenissen en ze het gevoel geven dat zij minder hulpeloos aan situaties zijn overgeleverd dan ze daarvoor vaak dachten. De eerste ervaringen met het programma worden geïllustreerd aan de hand van een casus.
