Anafylaxie en insectenallergie

Samenvatting

In deze bijdrage wordt aandacht besteed aan anafylaxie, een potentieel levensbedreigende reactie op een exogene stimulus. In de meerderheid van de gevallen treden de klachten binnen twee uur na blootstelling op. Anafylaxie is een klinische diagnose. Het beloop van klachten, de criteria voor de diagnose anafylaxie en de acute behandeling worden beschreven, evenals het gebruik van de adrenaline auto-injectors. Vervolgens gaan we specifiek in op insectenallergie (met name wespenallergie) die bij 20 % van de bevolking voorkomt. De reacties kunnen variëren van een lokale zwelling tot een ernstige systemische reactie. Daarna geven we een overzicht van de verschillende reacties en de implicaties daarvan voor zowel diagnostiek als behandeling en wordt mastocytose besproken. De bijdrage wordt afgesloten met een negental praktische vragen.
