Grief and Loss to see or hear these words will likely elicit a host of emotions and mental images. Moreover, these emotions and images are profoundly personal. This is due to the reality that, as certain as there are periods of daylight and dark, every human being will experience loss at some point in his or her life. Loss is not exclusive to death. It may also be experienced in a variety of situations such as separation from a job or relationship, illness or injury, the aging process and a traumatic event. The grief response associated with the loss will also be experienced in a variety of ways. There may come a time when an individual requires additional support to navigate this process in the most therapeutic manner possible. …
