Serie Onderzoek en Psychotherapie: Cognitieve gedragstherapie bij hypochondrie

Abstract

Tot voor kort was de diagnose hypochondrie een contra-indicatie voor psychotherapie. Deze situatie is de laatste jaren ten goede veranderd. Na een kort overzicht van het klinische beeld en de in stand houdende mechanismen gaan we in op de recente inzichten over de behandeling van hypochondrie. De theoretische opvattingen hebben zich recentelijk sterk ontwikkeld en aanleiding gegeven tot ontwikkeling en onderzoek van specifieke interventies. Vooral is meer zicht gekomen op cognitieve en gedragsmatige aspecten van hypochondrie. De auteurs geven een overzicht van behandelonderzoek en van hun bijdragen daaraan. Daaruit lijken duidelijke implicaties voor de klinische praktijk naar voren te komen. Samenvattend blijkt er in het laatste decennium steun te ontstaan voor de effectiviteit van cognitief-gedragstherapeutische interventies.
