28. Patiënt met een neurologische aandoening

Samenvatting

Veel patiënten met een neurologische aandoening ondergaan een operatie al dan niet gerelateerd aan de aandoening. Postoperatieve zorg voor deze patiënten kan een uitdaging zijn door de diverse klinische manifestaties van de verschillende aandoeningen. In dit hoofdstuk beschrijven we de aandachtspunten bij postoperatieve bewaking van enkele veelvoorkomende neurologische aandoeningen zoals de ziekte van Parkinson, Alzheimer, stroke (hersenbloeding of herseninfarct), epilepsie, spierziekten waaronder myasthenia gravis, spierdystrofie (zoals Becker, Duchenne, myotone dystrofie) en ALS en multiple sclerose. Verder besteden we aandacht aan patiënten die reeds preoperatief afhankelijk zijn van een vorm van thuisbeademing en voor een operatie postoperatief op de PACU moeten verblijven. Ook zal aandacht worden besteed aan patiënten met neurochirurgische implantaten, zoals bijvoorbeeld intracraniële drukregulatie en de patiënt met traumatisch hersenletsel die een behandeling voor ander trauma nodig heeft en postoperatief op de PACU wordt opgenomen.
