Neurobiologie van cognitieve en emotionele motivatie

Abstract

Gedrag is fylogenetisch en ontogenetisch het meest adequate antwoord in reactie op prikkels vanuit de omgeving waarin het organisme zich bevindt. Deze respons wordt mogelijk gemaakt door het zenuwstelsel als intermediair en als instrument. De wijze waarop dat gebeurt verschilt per persoon en naar de aard van de stimuli vanuit de omgeving. Ten aanzien van de motivatie tot gedrag kan neurobiologisch onderscheid worden gemaakt tussen de algemene motivatie, het initiatief en de selectieve voorrangverlening via inhibitie. Op grond van deze stappen worden in dit artikel neurobiologisch verschillende processen tot motivatie van gedrag beschreven. Dit leidt tot een neurobiologisch model van motivatie.
