Schizofrenie: fmri-onderzoek met de dichotische luistertaak

Abstract

Schizofrenie is een ernstige ziekte met een grote maatschappelijke impact. De ziekte komt relatief veel voor, want bij ongeveer één procent van de wereldbevolking zal zich schizofrenie voordoen. De kosten voor de maatschappij zijn dan ook enorm (Løberg, 2004). In de klinische praktijk wordt de diagnose ‘schizofrenie’ meestal gesteld aan de hand van de dsm-IV (American Psychiatric Association, 1994) of de icd-10 (who, 1992). De meest kenmerkende verschijnselen zijn wanen, hallucinaties, het wegvallen van de samenhang in spreken en denken, onlogische gedragingen en een gebrek aan emoties, motivatie en initiatief.
