Modererende factoren na seksueel trauma bij adolescenten

semenvatting

Recent onderzoek wijst op de invloed van twee modererende factoren, namelijk persoonlijke verwerkingsfactoren (waarbinnen de rol van ‘appraisals’, attributies en het proces van vermijden geselecteerd werden) en omgevingsfactoren (het familiaal functioneren en sociale steun), op de ontwikkeling van de symptomatologie na een seksueel trauma. Deze symptomatologie beperkt zich niet tot de ‘gekende’ symptomen van een posttraumatische stress-stoornis. Uit onderzoek met seksueel misbruikte adolescenten komen tal van andere symptomen naar voren, zoals delinquent gedrag, geseksualiseerd gedrag, dissociatieve stoornissen. In dit overzichtsartikel wordt nader ingegaan op de invloed van deze modererende factoren op de posttraumatische stress-stoornis en de niet aan posttraumatische stress-stoornis gerelateerde symptomatologie.
