Externaliserend probleemgedrag en opvoeding bij kinderen van vier tot negen jaar

semenvatting

Met behulp van cohort-sequentiële, latente groeimodellen werden longitudinale data van externaliserend probleemgedrag bij vier leeftijdscohorten (vier tot zeven jaar bij de eerste meting) geanalyseerd. Vaders en moeders van 674 kinderen vulden drie opeenvolgende jaren de Child Behavior Checklist in, bij de tweede meting het Leuvens Instrument voor Coërcief Opvoedingsgedrag en bij de derde meting de Parenting Scale. Van vier tot negen jaar werd een niet-lineaire neerwaartse trend in externaliserend probleemgedrag vastgesteld. Jongens startten hoger dan meisjes. Hogere scores op negatief opvoedingshandelen gingen samen met hogere scores op initieel probleemgedrag. Geen van deze variabelen was gerelateerd aan de gemiddelde afname. Vaders rapporteerden minder probleemgedrag dan moeders.
