Een onderzoek met behulp van de TAT

Abstract

In dit artikel worden de resultaten gepresenteerd van een eerste studie naar de constructvaliditeit van de theoriegestuurde profielinterpretatie van de Nederlandse Verkorte MMPI (NVM), die is ontwikkeld door de twee eerstgenoemde auteurs. Als extern validiteitscriterium is gekozen voor de Complexiteit van mentale representaties van het zelf en anderen, een van de vier dimensies van de Social cognition and object relations scale, een door Westen ontwikkeld scoringssysteem voor de Thematische apperceptietest (TAT). De resultaten ondersteunen de hypothese dat met behulp van profielinterpretatie van de NVM latente kwetsbaarheid voor psychopathologie gedetecteerd kan worden. Het niveau van Complexiteit neemt af naarmate de hypothetische structuurpathologie toeneemt.
