Abstract

Snacks and softdrinks in secondary schools
In secondary schools in the Netherlands an experiment was carried out to stimulate the sale of healthier snacks and soft drinks in vending machines. The range of these products in vending machines was changed, as well as the provision of product information and the reduction of prices of low calorie products. Pupils were taught about snacks and soft drinks. This article describes the process of change in school vending machines. To what extent was the desired range in vending machines achieved and how was this valued by students and all stakeholders involved?
