Schrijven, visuomotorische integratie en lichte neurologische disfuncties in de schoolleeftijd

Abstract

De neurologische conditie van een kind speelt een belangrijke rol bij de ontwikkeling van motorisch gedrag, in het bijzonder bij de ontwikkeling van adequate complexe motorische vaardigheden. Er is weinig bekend over de relatie tussen de neurologie en met name de aan-of afwezigheid van lichte neurologische disfuncties (minor neurological dysfunction; MND) en handschrift. Hetzelfde geldt voor de relatie tussen neurologie en visuomotorische integratie. Veel kinderen hebben moeite met schrijven; de prevalentie van schrijfproblemen varieert van tien tot 30 procent (Karlsdottir & Stefansson, 2002). Schrijven is een belangrijke vaardigheid die gerelateerd is aan de schoolprestaties en het zelfvertrouwen van een kind.
