Oogbewegingen weerspiegelen motorische inbeelding

Samenvatting

Motorische inbeelding is een techniek die reeds jarenlang gebruikt wordt in de sportwereld. Recente studies tonen aan dat deze oefenmethode mogelijk ook van nut zou kunnen zijn voor de revalidatie van patiënten met neurologische aandoeningen. Bij patiënten met hersenletsel is het echter de vraag of ze überhaupt nog in staat zijn accuraat bewegingen te visualiseren. Tot nog toe bestaat er echter geen objectieve methode om tijdens inbeelding zelf te controleren of personen de inbeeldingstaak wel accuraat uitvoeren. Om hiervoor een oplossing te bieden werd in een studie bij gezonde personen nagegaan of het opmeten van oogbewegingen kan dienen als precieze evaluatiemethode voor motorische inbeelding.
