2. Ongedifferentieerde somatoforme stoornis

Samenvatting

Volgens de dsm-iv (American Psychiatric Association (apa), 1994) is er sprake van een ongedifferentieerde somatoforme stoornis als een patiënt gedurende ten minste 6 maanden een of meer lichamelijke klachten heeft die ook na adequaat medisch onderzoek niet zijn te verklaren vanuit een bekende somatische aandoening of vanuit het directe effect van een middel (drug of geneesmiddel). Indien er een somatische aandoening is die met de klachten verband houdt, dan zijn de lichamelijke klachten of de hieruit volgende sociale en beroepsmatige beperkingen ernstiger dan verwacht zou worden op grond van anamnese, lichamelijk onderzoek of laboratoriumuitslagen. Om te voldoen aan de diagnose moet de patiënt lijden onder zijn klachten of onder de gevolgen die de klachten hebben voor zijn sociaal of beroepsmatig functioneren. Ten slotte zijn de klachten niet beter toe te schrijven aan een andere psychische stoornis en worden de symptomen niet opzettelijk door de patiënt veroorzaakt of voorgewend.
