Effectonderzoek bij een cognitief gedragstherapeutische groepsbehandeling voorangstige kinderen met een cognitieve beperking

samenvatting

In een ongecontroleerde open studie kregen twaalf kinderen van elf tot zeventien jaar met een cognitieve beperking (IQ 60-90) een aangepaste groepsbehandeling. Op door kinderen en ouders ingevulde vragenlijsten over de mate van angst was zowel op de ouder- als op de kindmaten een daling van angstsymptomen te zien. Er was een zeer hoge effectgrootte bij de ouders (d = 1,34) en een matige effectgrootte bij de kinderen (d=0.64). Cognitieve gedragstherapie middels een aangepaste groepsbehandeling lijkt een haalbare en mogelijke effectieve interventie bij angstige kinderen met een cognitieve beperking.
