21. Het Kawa-model

Samenvatting

In dit hoofdstuk wordt het Kawa-model nader toegelicht. Het Kawa-model is ontwikkeld vanuit de praktijk, beoogt cultureel relevant te zijn en de levensstroom van personen in kaart te brengen zonder dat hieraan bepaalde waarden worden gekoppeld. De metafoor van de rivier staat centraal, waarbij het water dat stroomt in die rivier de levensstroom weerspiegelt. De rivierbedding, de aanwezige rotsen en het drijfhout bepalen hoe de stroming is in de rivier, oftewel hoeveel ruimte er is voor het water om te stromen. De rol van ergotherapie is het mogelijk maken en/of optimaliseren van die levensstroom.
