30. Ergotherapie en wetenschappelijk onderzoek

Samenvatting

Dit hoofdstuk laat zien dat ergotherapie en wetenschap sterk met elkaar verbonden zijn en dat er veel verschillende invalshoeken zijn. Zowel het wetenschappelijke domein als de ergotherapie en occupational science kennen grote variatie in onderwerpen en methodieken. Omdat ergotherapie gaat over het veranderen van handelen in de werkelijke wereld en daarmee een zeer complexe interventie is, maakt zij ook gebruik van die grote wetenschappelijke variatie. Met het toenemende aantal wetenschappelijk geschoolde ergotherapeuten en het aantal gepromoveerde ergotherapieonderzoekers zal de wetenschappelijke onderbouwing van ergotherapie en het ergotherapieonderzoek zich verder ontwikkelen. Het blijft een uitdaging die kennis ook toe te passen in de dagelijkse praktijk zodat cliënten de behandeling krijgen die past bij hun wensen en behoeften.
