Effectiviteit van nascholing over (onco)genetica

Van huisartsen verwacht men in toenemende mate dat zij genetische zorg verlenen.1-4 Hiertoe moeten zij beschikken over in de dagelijkse praktijk toepasbare kennis en consultvaardigheden.1 Pas dan kunnen zij bijvoorbeeld patiënten met een erfelijke aanleg voor kanker tijdig opsporen (screening en case-finding), en adequate beslissingen over genetische (vroeg)diagnostiek en risicoverlagende interventies nemen. Op dit moment zijn bedoelde kennis en vaardigheden onvoldoende verwerkt in het competentieraamwerk van opleidingen tot medisch specialist (waaronder de huisartsenopleiding), hogere-beroepsopleidingen voor de gezondheidszorg (waaronder de opleiding tot verloskundige) en de opleiding tot sociaal geneeskundige.2 Verbeteringen zijn hier gewenst en noodzakelijk, vooral waar het eerstelijnsberoepsbeoefenaren betreft.
