Een smart inlegzool bij artrose: wat vindt de zorgprofessional ervan?

Samenvatting

In deze Engelse studie is nagegaan hoe zorgverleners aankijken tegen de Flexifoot, een slimme inlegzool, die is ontworpen voor patiënten met artrose en met name wordt gebruikt door zorgverleners. Hiertoe zijn semigestructureerde interviews afgenomen onder 11 fysiotherapeuten, 11 orthopedisch chirurgen, vijf huisartsen en drie podotherapeuten. Alle deelnemers vonden dat de inlegzool een nuttige aanvulling was op de huidige behandeling, dat het systeem de informatieoverdracht tussen zorgverleners en cliënten en tussen zorgverleners onderling verbeterde en dat de data nuttig waren bij de evaluatie van de behandeling. Zij waren in het algemeen positief over toepassing van de zool in een klinische setting, maar vonden wel dat het systeem aanpasbaar zou moeten zijn aan de specifieke problemen van de cliënt. Als belangrijkste barrières voor de implementatie van de zool voorzagen zij tijd, kosten en acceptatie door de cliënten.
