De nieuwe CBO-consensus Osteoporose en fractuurpreventie 2011

Een update voor behandelaars van fractuurpatiënten

Samenvatting

In 2010 is een update van de osteoporoserichtlijn uit 2002 gemaakt, die een hoofdstuk bevat met informatie en aanbevelingen voor fractuurpatiënten. Naast algemene informatie over fractuurrisico en het verloop in de tijd daarvan wordt ook duidelijk gemaakt dat opsporing van wervelfracturen bij deze patiënten zinvol is om een betere inschatting te maken van fractuurrisico. Speciale aandacht is nodig voor de patiënt met een heupfractuur en bij een DXA-uitslag met een T-score tussen -2 en -2,5. Ten slotte worden de belangrijkste aanbevelingen voor fractuurpatiënten belicht, waarbij ook de flowchart die in de nieuwe richtlijn is, opgenomen wordt besproken. Een optimale organisatie van deze zorg vergt de inzet van een gespecialiseerde verpleegkundige die als coördinator dient voor zowel de patiënt als de betrokken medisch specialisten en de huisarts.
