De invloed van voeding op hyperactief gedrag bij kinderen met adhd

Samenvatting

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (adhd) is een kinderpsychiatrische stoornis, voorkomend bij 3%–5% van de schoolgaande kinderen. Deze studie onderzocht in hoeverre dieetinterventie van invloed kan zijn op hyperactief en impulsief gedrag van kinderen. Gedurende drie weken volgden 64 kinderen, die allen voldeden aan de dsm-iv-criteria voor adhd, een eliminatiedieet. 59% reageerde met significante gedragsverbeteringen op de voedingsveranderingen (sd=6,59; 95% bi van het verschil: 7,16–10,63; p=0,001). Dit onderzoek bevestigt de resultaten van voorgaande onderzoeken, waaruit blijkt dat een eliminatiedieet een gunstig effect kan hebben op het gedrag van kinderen met adhd. Verder gecontroleerd onderzoek naar het langetermijneffect van voeding wordt aanbevolen.
