De beoordeling van de kwaliteit van objectrepresentaties

Betrouwbaarheid van de Differentiation-Relatedness Scale (DR-S)

Samenvatting

Objectrepresentaties worden gedefinieerd als bewuste en onbewuste schemata van belangrijke anderen, die als een interne blauwdruk dienen en daarmee de wijze waarop we met anderen omgaan beïnvloeden. Objectrepresentaties ontwikkelen zich gedurende het leven. In de vroege kindertijd zijn er meer primitieve vormen, waarbij nog weinig onderscheid gemaakt wordt tussen zelf en ander. Later ontwikkelen zich rijpere objectrepresentaties met het vermogen tot meer wederzijdse beïnvloeding, objectconstantie, empathie en mentaliseren. Ten tijde van psychische problemen kunnen objectrepresentaties terugvallen naar een eerder stadium. De kwaliteit van objectrepresentaties is meetbaar en verbetert bij patiënten met ernstige psychopathologie na een geslaagde psychotherapie. Deze verandering in kwaliteit kan gebruikt worden als proces- en uitkomstmaat voor onderzoek naar het effect van psychotherapie. In deze studie is gebruik gemaakt van de Object Relation Inventory (ORI) als interview, gecombineerd met de Differentiation Relatedness Scale (DR-S) voor het vaststellen van de kwaliteit van objectrepresentaties. De resultaten laten zien dat dit onderzoeksinstrument een goede test-hertestbetrouwbaarheid heeft in de Nederlandse situatie. De validiteit van dit onderzoeksinstrument (ORI/DR-S) dient nader onderzocht te worden.
