Aging well has been the ultimate goal of many research efforts during the recent decades, although variations of this theme have been many (e.g., successful, good, satisfactory, healthy, optimal). My goal within this presentation is two-fold. First, I plan to scan major psychological and social gerontology research areas in terms of their contributions to aging well. Such areas include cognitive development, the development of personality and self, the social and physical context of aging, as well as the managing of developmental tasks and psycho-physical multi-morbidity.
