In his book, “Seeing All Kids as Readers: A New Vision for Literacy in the Inclusive Early Childhood Classroom,” Christopher Kliewer compiles several years of grant funded, ethnographic research results. This is a persuasive book intended to inspire early childhood educators to expand their concept of literacy and promote children’s “literate citizenship” (Kliewer 2008, p. 86) within inclusive preschool classrooms. The book and its main principles are interpretive, theoretical, and primarily supported by qualitative evidence. …
