Chirurgische behandelopties bij posttraumatische groeischijfsluiting van distale onderarm

Samenvatting

Een zeldzame complicatie van een fractuur van de distale onderarm op de kinderleeftijd is de vervroegde posttraumatische sluiting van de groeischijf. Door de veranderde groei die daardoor ontstaat, treden soms klachten op die een chirurgische interventie behoeven. Afhankelijk van de ernst van het letsel en de te verwachten groei zijn er verschillende chirurgische opties. Met het toepassen van al deze opties wordt ernaar gestreefd de anatomie en mechanica van het polsgewricht te verbeteren. Dit artikel geeft een richtlijn bij de indicatiestelling en een overzicht van de verschillende opties.
