Case report. Osteomyelitis van het os pubis als zeldzame, maar invaliderende complicatie na GreenLight lasertherapie van de prostaat

Samenvatting

Osteomyelitis van het os pubis ten gevolge van een kapselperforatie met extravasatie van (geïnfecteerde) urine is een zeldzame, maar invaliderende complicatie na GreenLight Laser (GGL) fotoselectieve prostaatvaporisatie. Wij beschrijven drie casus van osteomyelitis van het os pubis na 180-W GreenLight lasertherapie. De oorzaak ligt volgens ons in een combinatie van factoren, waaronder energieafgifte naar het ventrale kapsel, een kapselperforatie in combinatie met een urineweginfectie en wellicht de duur van de drainage postoperatief. Indien een geïnfecteerd puboprostatische fistel persisteert en osteomyelitis ontstaat, is naast conservatieve behandeling, open chirurgische behandeling een therapeutische optie.
