14. Cariëspreventie met chloorhexidine

Samenvatting

Chloorhexidine is het meest effectieve antimicrobiële middel dat kan worden toegepast als aanvulling op mechanische plaqueverwijdering. De grotere effectiviteit in vergelijking met andere antimicrobiële middelen wordt niet zozeer veroorzaakt door een groter antimicrobieel vermogen, maar door het feit dat chloorhexidine relatief lang in de mond achterblijft.
