With increased worldwide immigration, health professionals are seeing patients and families with traditional rituals and practices from cultures with which they are unfamiliar. The role of health professionals is to bridge the gap between rituals and scientific medicine and nursing to promote health promotion and wellness, illness and disease prevention, and health maintenance and restoration.
