11 ict bij het verbeteren van patiëntveiligheid

Samenvatting

De Nederlandse zorgsector staat onder zware druk nu de zorgvraag op meerdere terreinen de beschikbare capaciteiten overstijgt. Een hoge werkdruk, wachtlijsten en steeds verder stijgende kosten zijn het meest zichtbare effect. De voornoemde druk zal in de komende jaren verder toenemen, omdat onomkeerbare demografische en sociale ontwikkelingen de spanning tussen zorgvraag en zorgaanbod opvoeren. Als resultante zal Nederland de komende decennia worden geconfronteerd met een toenemende vraag naar kwalitatief hoogwaardiger zorg op maat, bij een gelijktijdige afname van het beschikbare zorgpersoneel. De grote uitdaging waarvoor de zorgsector zich hierdoor in de komende tien jaar geplaatst ziet, laat zich samenvatten in de vraag: hoe bij een relatieve afname van de beschikbare zorgmiddelen een goede toegankelijkheid, kwaliteit, effectiviteit en transparantie van de zorg te waarborgen? De oplossing voor de geschetste uitdaging c.q. problematiek wordt in twee richtingen gezocht.
