Samenvatting

De bekendste vorm van lagerug- en bekkenpijn is die bij vrouwen tijdens de zwangerschap (prepartum) en na de bevalling (postpartum) op. In verband met internationale consensus ten aanzien van een eenduidige naamstelling, praten we tegenwoordig over ‘pelvic girdle pain’ (PGP) of ‘pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain’ (PPGP).

a Zwangerschapsgerelateerde lagerug- en bekkenpijn (ZLBP) of pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain (PPGP): kenmerkende lagerug- en bekkenpijn gedurende de zwangerschap (prepartum) en/of de herstelperiode daarna (postpartum) (Bastiaenen, 2009).

b Stressurine-incontinentie (SUI): onvrijwillig urineverlies bij fysieke inspanning (buikdrukverhoging) zoals bij hoesten, niezen, en soms ook bij tillen, springen (Abrams, 2003).
