Samenvatting

De zorg voor mensen met een verstandelijke beperking is, evenals de terminologie, in de loop van de jaren meermaals ingrijpend veranderd. Vroeger sprak men over ‘debielen’, ‘idioten’, ‘zwakzinnigen’, ‘mentaal geretardeerden’ en ‘verstandelijk gehandicapten’.
