Samenvatting

Een 40-jarige man had al meer dan een jaar regelmatig pijn aan de mediale zijde van de rechterhiel. De pijn was geleidelijk ontstaan nadat hij een keer een misstap had gemaakt tijdens het joggen. Omdat de man ook last had van branderige pijn en tintelingen, vermoedde men een compressie van een zenuw. Dit hoofdstuk beschrijft het tarsaletunnelsyndroom, een aandoening die ook wel de joggersvoet wordt genoemd. Aan de orde komen onder andere: de anatomie, predisponerende factoren, de oorzaak van de aandoening, diagnostiek en de therapie.

Gezwel dat uitgaat van de dunne schede die de zenuwvezels omgeeft (schwannoom).
