Psychologische strategieën bij de preventie van terugval bij depressie

Een overzicht van de literatuur

Abstract

Het aantal depressieve patiënten dat na een succesvolle behandeling binnen afzienbare tijd opnieuw depressief wordt, is groot. Er zijn verschillende psychologische strategieën beschikbaar die een preventief effect op terugval kunnen hebben. Er zijn weinig gecontroleerde studies uitgevoerd naar de effecten van psychologische behandelingen die voortgezet worden na het herstel van de patiënt. Effectief lijken vooral de psychologische interventies die worden uitgevoerd nadat de patiënt een somatische (met name farmacologische) behandeling heeft ondergaan. Er is ook wel enig onderzoek gedaan naar het profylactische effect van psychologische behandelingen, maar dit is moeilijk te interpreteren vanwege belangrijke methodologische problemen. Andere strategieën, zoals terugkombijeenkomsten of minimale interventies zijn nauwelijks onderzocht.
