Preventie van lage rugklachten bij tilactiviteiten door gebruik van ruggordels: een systematische review

Samenvatting

Beroepen in de gezondheidszorg waaronder ambulancepersoneel zijn risicogroepen voor tilbelasting en ontwikkeling van daarmee samenhangen de rugklachten. Een systematisch literatuuronderzoek werd uitgevoerd naar het effect van ruggordels bij tilbelasting op het ontstaan of vermin deren van rugklachten. Tevens werd onderzocht wat het effect van rug- gordelgebruik bij tilbelasting is op de beweeglijkheid van de romp. In Medline, Embase en SportDiscus werd gezocht in de periode van 1985 tot en met februari 2004. Uit de literatuur blijkt dat een ruggordel geen effectief middel is om ontstaan of recidivering van (rug)klachten te voorkómen. Wel is vermindering van de beweeglijkheid van de romp in het sagittale vlak aangetoond. Vanwege onvoldoende bewijs wordt het standaard verstrekken van een ruggordel afgeraden.
