Posttraumatische amnesie: wat is het en hoe meet je het?

Abstract

De periode van herstel na schedel-hersenletsel wordt onder andere gekenmerkt door vergeetachtigheid en verwardheid, de posttraumatische amnesie. Het is al jaren bekend dat de duur van deze posttraumatische amnesie veel zegt over de mate waarin de patiënt uiteindelijk zal herstellen. Toch wordt er in het ziekenhuis niet systematisch rekening mee gehouden. Dit artikel biedt een praktische oplossing: de Orientation Log (O-Log).
