9. Polyneuropathie

Inleiding

Polyneuropathie is een syndroom met veel mogelijke oorzaken. De prevalentie van polyneuropathie in Nederland wordt geschat op 100.000-400.000 patiënten. Procentueel betekent dit dat 0,6 tot 2,5% van de Nederlandse bevolking een polyneuropathie heeft. De incidentie is alleen maar af te leiden uit epidemiologische gegevens verzameld in andere landen en wordt geschat op 30 tot 200 per 100.000 per jaar. Polyneuropathie is dus een veelvoorkomend probleem.
