Samenvatting

Het uitvoeren van een implementatieprogramma vraagt een zorgvuldige voorbereiding. Aanwijzingen voor de aanpak zijn voornamelijk op ervaringskennis gebaseerd. Het implementatieprogramma moet worden afgestemd op verschillende fasen van verandering, zich richten op verschillende organisatieniveaus en logisch in de tijd zijn gepland. Bij voorkeur is het ingebouwd in bestaande activiteiten voor verbetering van gezondheidszorg. Het verdient aanbeveling om een implementatieprogramma altijd eerst op kleine schaal uit te proberen en te evalueren. Het programma dient heldere doelen te hebben, die ook richtinggevend zijn voor de evaluatie. Vanaf het begin moet worden gewerkt aan verankering van verandering in routines, zodat de verbeteringen houdbaar worden. Verschillende factoren worden verondersteld samen te hangen bij verankering.
