In zijn artikel ‘Over transities in de ontwikkeling’ stelt Kalverboer de volgende vragen: Zijn er sprongen in de ontwikkeling? Zijn er perioden van instabiliteit? Hoe is de timing van de ontwikkelingsprocessen? Wat zou de functie van zulke perioden kunnen zijn?
