Samenvatting

In 1962 introduceerde Saling een methode ter controle van de foetale oxygenatie tijdens de partus.⁸ Hij beschreef een techniek waarbij uit het voorliggende foetale deel (meestal de behaarde hoofdhuid, de ‘scalp’) enkele druppels bloed werden afgenomen ter bepaling van het foetale zuur-base-evenwicht.
