The term “adolescence” can incite a plethora of emotions and subsequent adjectives. It can be a time of excitement and opportunity. It can also be a time of turmoil and confusion. For better or worse, adolescence is most certainly a time of discovery and change. This extended developmental period, typically spanning between ages 10 and 20, encompasses numerous changes in biological, psychological and social functioning.
