Samenvatting

Een 21-jarige voetballer voelt tijdens een duel met de tegenstander een felle pijnscheut in de knie. Dezelfde dag wordt de knie dik. Dit blijkt het beeld te zijn van een klassieke voetbalblessure: de voetbalknie of meniscuslaesie. Dit hoofdstuk beschrijft de casus, de functie van de menisci, de verschillende typen meniscuslaesie, de diagnostiek en de therapie. De laatste paragraaf beschrijft wanneer men conservatief en wanneer men operatief behandelt en er wordt een oefenprogramma beschreven.
