Samenvatting

Een 19-jarige studente zakt tijdens een duel met de tegenstander door de knie, valt op de grond en moet vanwege de pijn het veld afgedragen worden. De knie wordt in korte tijd heel dik. Na enkele weken wordt de diagnose gesteld: er is sprake van een voorstekruisbandruptuur. Dit hoofdstuk beschrijft de casus, diagnostiek, de beste klinische tests, de anatomie, de conservatieve en operatieve behandeling en de prognose.
