Autumn is the season when flue is a topic for discussion again. In the previous TBV issue attention was requested for the vaccination policy in hospitals, and in this issue we publish a neat evaluation of a study among a hospital population. The study’s results do not yet clarify if vaccination results in fewer influenza cases for the employees, and thus a lower chance of transmitting the flue to patients. More effectiveness studies are needed and they can be performed in a simple manner, as conceived by occupational physician-epidemiologist David Bruinvels. …
