Samenvatting

De opkomst van de foetale bewakingstechnieken in de afgelopen decennia heeft er niet toe geleid dat perinatale sterfte of neurologische morbiditeit daardoor minder frequent voorkomen dan met klassieke foetale bewakingstechnieken.^1,11 Toch kent vrijwel ieder werkzaam in de verloskunde individuele casus, waarbij foetale bewaking vrijwel zeker heeft geleid tot een betere uitkomst of het voorkomen van schade.
