Mindfulness, Acceptance, and the Psychodynamic evolution: Bringing values into treatment planning and enhancing psychodynamic work with Buddhist psychology is an interesting collection of clinicians’ perspectives on client treatment that melds together the ideas of psychodynamic psychotherapy, mindfulness, and Buddhism. This volume is divided into two sections. The seven chapters in Part One: Roots and Foundations discuss the concept and processes of including mindfulness-based practices with psychotherapy. Part Two: The Evolution Continues contains five chapters that describe psychodynamic psychotherapy in action. The chapters are written by individual clinicians who present evidence for the integration of mindfulness and acceptance in the field of psychotherapy. This is a unique way of presenting many clinicians’ voices in one succinct work. Some of the chapters are strictly academic in content, while others present vignettes and stories from the authors’ personal experiences in the field of psychodynamic therapy.
