Immunologische afwijkingen bij het syndroom van Down

samenvatting

In dit artikel wordt ingegaan op de relatie tussen het teveel aan genetisch materiaal op chromosoom 21 en de hematologische en immunologische afwijkingen. De serumimmunoglobulinespiegels zijn op jonge leeftijd over het algemeen normaal. De humorale antistofrespons lijkt echter gestoord. De T-celafhankelijke immuniteit valt binnen de norm. Klinisch lijken er aanwijzingen voor granulocytendysfunctie. De kans op het ontwikkelen van maligniteit of een auto-immuunproces is verhoogd.

Immunologie
