Samenvatting

Veel principes van bestaande, geneeskundige toepassingen zijn bij toeval gevonden. Ze vloeien voort uit onderzoek dat primair een ander doel had. Zo zijn MRI en echografie resultaten van natuurkundige research, die later werden uitontwikkeld naar de huidige beeldvormende technieken in de geneeskunde.
