Het verband tussen alcohol- en cannabisgebruik en het plegen van huiselijk geweld

Literatuuroverzicht van onderzoek in geïndustrialiseerde landen

Samenvatting

In dit literatuuroverzicht wordt een samenvatting gegeven van onderzoeken naar het verband tussen alcohol- of cannabisgebruik en het plegen van partnergeweld of kindermishandeling. Onderzoek onder verschillende groepen mensen wees uit dat alcoholgebruik geassocieerd is met het plegen van partnergeweld en kindermishandeling. Uit het onderzoek naar cannabisgebruik zijn minder duidelijke conclusies te trekken. Er is enig bewijs dat cannabisgebruik is geassocieerd met partnergeweld, maar een relatie met kindermishandeling komt minder duidelijk naar voren. Het overzicht wordt afgesloten met aanbevelingen voor vervolgonderzoek, preventie en behandeling.
