27. Het signaleren en bespreekbaar maken van partnergeweld

Samenvatting

Partnergeweld, gender-based violence, en seksueel misbruik behoren tot de veelvoorkomende ernstige problemen in de huisartspraktijk. Internationale richtlijnen, onder andere van de World Health Organization (WHO) en de KNMG Meldcode Kindermishandeling en Huiselijk Geweld geven houvast hoe hiermee om te gaan. Om adequaat te kunnen signaleren én handelen zijn scholing en gedegen kennis van de sociale kaart noodzakelijk. Alleen door rustig, aandachtig en zonder vooroordelen te vragen en luisteren, te reageren en te handelen is het mogelijk te helpen bij het beëindigen van de situatie en naar herstel toe te werken. Dit is de kern van gendersensitief luisteren en handelen bij patiënten die te maken hebben met partnergeweld.

LHBTIQ+: lesbisch, homoseksueel, biseksueel, transgender, intersekse, queer en anderen die wat betreft hun genderidentiteit, genderexpressie, seksualiteit of hun lichaam buiten wat in de maatschappij wordt gezien als 'standaard' vallen.

Zo kan er via de Wet Maatschappelijke Ondersteuning (WMO) een beroep gedaan worden op praktische hulp en ondersteuning, bijvoorbeeld in de vorm van maatschappelijk werk. Dit verloopt in de meeste gevallen via de gemeente. Het verdient aanbeveling om de regionale sociale kaart in beeld te hebben.
